What is Stillbirth?

Stillbirth, a term meaning "quiet birth", refers to the birth of a baby who has died during pregnancy, labor or delivery. It is a term often often used to distinguish the birth from that of a miscarriage or live birth. Sadly, the majority of stillbirths occur in full-term pregnancies.
What is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)?

SIDS is the sudden, unexplained death of an infant younger than one year old. It is the leading cause of death in children between one month and one year of age. Most SIDS deaths happen when babies are between 2 months and 4 months of age. SIDS is rare during the first month of life. Risk peaks in infants 2-4 months of age and then declines.
